Michele Pred is an internationally exhibited artist who has been teaching professional practices to artists for nine years and currently Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts, where she teaches Professional Practices. She has led workshops and portfolio reviews for Center for Cultural Innovation, John F Kennedy University, Pro Arts Gallery, Kala Art Center, the Di Rosa Preserve, BayVAN and Napa Valley Arts Council.

Mercury 20 is an artist-established and operated gallery located in Oakland, CA. A collective comprised of 20 members, Mercury 20 is dedicated to exhibiting high quality, innovative work from emerging artists and to promoting art in the community. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Mercury 20 seeks innovative, self-directed members who will be active in gallery operations, events and projects. We are looking for residents of the East Bay. If you are interested in being considered for membership, please email us an application including:
– 5 images of recent work (Website link or jpegs)
– List of images with title, size, medium and year
– Letter of interest with contact info. If you have experience as a curator, with exhibitions, art writing, carpentry, grant writing, etc. please give details.

OPEN CALL – BayVAN’s 2011 Artist Registry

NOW ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS
This year they will be selecting 200 artists to join BayVAN’s curated artist registry.
2011 Registry Artists benefit from:
•Access to sales, leasing and exhibition opportunities through our consulting and exhibitions programs.
•Discounts on artist development services such as workshops, website building and portfolio reviews by leading professionals.
• An on-line presence through our public database of artist profiles launching in January 2011.
To apply you must be a visual artist living or working in one of the nine Bay Area counties. BayVAN’s registry includes work in Painting, Drawing, Photography, Mixed Media and Sculpture.
